So here’s my new toy.
The Nakamichi CD-400.
It’s the most awesomest player I’ve ever heard!
Great SQ, very controlled and detailed sounding!
Best thing I’ve ever bought in my life!
HEE!
Transferred the deposit to my soon-to-be second hand car player today. HEE. Can’t wait for the arrival!
The Vifa P13 midbass + XT25 tweeter w/o custom passive

OR
The Eclipse CD8443 Headunit (HU)

Either option will set me back around RM1.5k roughly.
I have Boston Acoustics S50 components for the front already so those Vifas are sort of an upgrade, I’ll move the Boston to the rear. But my HU is still stock.
So which one would you suggest me to get first? Upgrade speakers or get a better HU?
Hello. Long time.
I’ve been getting myself into this car stereo upgrade thingy. Got myself a woofer at first and recently upgraded my front speakers to a component set by Boston Acoustics.
Now the thing about this In-car entertainment (ICE) system is that it gets pretty addictive.
My car sounds pretty alright now but I still feel like I wanna add more stuff to it. Thinking of getting a new head unit (player) and replace the component speakers at the back. And later maybe change the ‘ciplak’ 2 channel amplifier driving my woofer at the back to a good 5 channel amp or one good 4 channel and a 2 channel amp. Lastly then I might consider changing the wiring to a decent quality one.
Ofcourse, I’ll settle for the inexpensive option between the 2 amps configuration. I’m not earning any salary yet so all of this will come from my pocket money.
There’s a trick to making your car stereo system sound like a ten grand system. It all comes down to how you tune the setup.
Right now I’m pretty noob at this shit but I’m slowly learning about the secrets of making the system sound awesome. Yea I could hire people to tune my setup but I don’t trust these people with their skills and they would probably charge me an arm and a leg for it.
So I’ve decided that it’s best to do it myself :)
I didn’t know that there are a lot of things to learn just to get your system to sound right (which is why I don’t trust these car shop people to do it for me).
It gets pretty technical but that makes it fun!
I’ll post some pictures of my setup later when I have time. Hee…
Ok goodnight all!
BOOM BOOM POW!
